What is the visiting policy at La Porte Hospital?
General visiting hours are 11 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. CST. All children ages six and older are welcome to visit immediate family only. Children under six are to remain in the waiting area with an adult.

What items should I bring to Patient Registration?
In order to register, you need to bring your insurance card and physician’s orders.

Why does Patient Registration ask for my insurance card every time I need testing?
Your insurance card is always required to assure accurate billing and good customer relations.

What are the hours of Patient Accounts (billing)?
7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST. You may contact our Inquiry Section at (219) 326-2310 or (219) 872-3331, ext. 2310.

Can parents stay overnight with their child?
Yes. Parents may stay with their child throughout his/her stay, including staying overnight.

Will I have a roommate?
No. All La Porte Hospital rooms are private rooms.

What should I bring if I’m having surgery?
By visiting our Surgery Information Center, your questions will be answered. We have provided all the necessary information to make sure you know what to expect and are prepared for surgery at La Porte Hospital.

Can I call to pre-register for testing?
Yes, call (219) 326-2407 or (219) 872-3331, ext. 2407.

Where do I register after hours for testing or surgery?
The Patient Registration and Scheduling Department is open:

• Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. CST
• Saturday: 7 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST
• Sunday: Closed

After hours you can register in the Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours.

To schedule an outpatient appointment, please call our patient service specialist at (219) 326-2444, or (219) 872-3331, ext. 2444, from 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.

What are the Wishing Well Gift Shop hours and its phone number?
The hours for our gift shop are:

• Monday - Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST
• Sunday: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. CST

To whom do I speak if I have a complaint?
For any complaint, you can call the SIG Line (Satisfaction Is Guaranteed) at (219) 326-1234, ext. 1500, or (219) 872-3331, ext. 1500.

What time is the Laboratory open?
The Laboratory at La Porte Hospital is open 24 hours.

What are the hours of the X-ray department?
Our X-ray department, Diagnostic Imaging, is open 24 hours.

Where is the lost and found?
The lost and found is located at the Cash Office.
