Interested in a career in the healthcare field? Looking for volunteer hours?
This and much more can be accomplished with VolunTeen at La Porte Hospital. This program allows high school and college students 15 years old+ to work within different areas of the hospital that interest you! Twice a week for 2 hours is all it takes!

Applications will be reviewed. To maintain program excellence, spaces are limited and interviews may be required. In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the number of spaces available, not all will be accepted.

Orientation
All VolunTeens participating are required to attend one of the VolunTeen orientation classes offered. Orientations will be held for two hours on the first day of your program.

Possible Assignments
VolunTeens will be given a predetermined schedule. Areas and tasks can include, but are not limited to:

Diagnostic Imaging (X-ray, CT, Mammogram), Laboratory, Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, Emergency Department, Respiratory Therapy, Maternal Care/OB, ICU/PCU (Critical Care), Family Care Unit (Pediatrics—Adult), Surgery, Center for Cancer Therapy,
Continuing Care Center, Physical Therapy, Cardiovascular ICU, Social Services, Medical Records, OB/Gyn Practice, Pharmacy, Patient Registration, General Family Practice, Playtime Pediatrics Physician Office, Neuro Sleep Center, or The Wellness Resource Center
