Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a position of sharing and caring...
a gift of time, enthusiasm and commitment. It is a position where personal reward is reimbursement. At La Porte Regional Health System, our volunteer program seeks to meet the needs of volunteers by creating a positive climate and ensuring that each volunteer has meaningful and challenging assignments. Our staff is dedicated to matching the time, skills and interest of our volunteers with the needs of the healthcare system and its patients.

Adult Opportunities
At La Porte Regional Health System, adult volunteers are asked to contribute a minimum of six (6) hours a month. Opportunities are flexible to fit various schedules.

Youth Opportunities
La Porte Regional Health System encourages students 14 years of age and older to experience volunteerism in a healthcare setting. Volunteer opportunities are flexible to work around extracurricular school activities.

Auxiliary Opportunities
The La Porte Hospital Auxiliary is designed to provide service to patients, administration and hospital personnel. In addition to assisting the hospital with service, the Auxiliary supports the hospital financially by donating proceeds from various fundraisers held during the year. Three types of Auxiliary memberships are available:

Active members regularly provide volunteer service
Associate members suppport the mission by providing financial service
Life members financially contribute one fee and may be an active member if they choose

Hospice Volunteer Opportunities
The VNA Hospice Care program continuously seeks new volunteers willing to assist with Hospice patients and their families.
