U.S. News and World Report ranks La Porte Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy services rank in top 50 in the nation!
La Porte Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy services rank number 47 in U.S. News and World Report’s 50 Best Hospitals for Respiratory Disorders. To be considered as a specialty, a hospital must have performed at least 1270 procedures in their area of specialty on Medicare patients from 2001-2003. According to U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals 2005 report, only 176 hospitals scored high enough rank in a single specialty out of 6,000 US medical centers. U.S. News and World Report looks at the entire area of the specialty, not just procedures making this recognition more meaningful to our patients and community.
La Porte Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy department has also earned recognition from the AARC (American Association of Respiratory Care) QRCR, quality recognition and the ALA (American Lung Association) best practice for Lung Center (now Center for Better Breathing) as well.
