La Porte Regional Health System wins Northwest Indiana Top Employer Honor

La Porte Regional Health System was honored this morning at The Center of Workforce Innovations’ Second Annual Meeting and Workforce Achievement Awards held at Sand Creek Country Club, Chesterton, Indiana.

La Porte Regional Health System proudly accepted the 2005 Employer Excellence Award. LRHS was recognized as an employer that has had a positive impact on their workforce through retention, continuing education, excellence and internal peer-to-peer recognition programs.

Jeff Jones, Center of Workforce Innovations Board member stated, “La Porte Regional Health System has used innovative approaches in regards to recruitment, training, and being family friendly. LRHS is an organization that understands that in order to be successful, they have to make their employees happy. With less than 4% overall turnover rate—they’ve obviously found a very successful formula!”

La Porte Hospital offers future workers a facility of excellence by achievement of many recognitions, designations and accreditations, such as achieving Magnet Status – the highest award a hospital can earn for outstanding achievement in nursing services from the American Nurses Credentialing Center; a recent VHA Leadership Award for Operational Excellence; and an award from U.S. News and World Report as Top 50 Best Hospitals for Respiratory Disorders.
