Heart and Vascular Institute offers cholesterol screening

The Heart and Vascular Institute continues to focus on prevention measures and early detection of premature cardiovascular disease with a recent addition of a cholesterol test.

VAP (Vertical Auto Profile) Cholesterol Test® is a simple blood test that identifies 15 hidden risks that the standard, 30-year-old lipid blood test may miss. The complete test is offered for only $39. No physician order required.

The comprehensive test is recommended for those with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, a family history of heart disease or those taking cholesterol medication. VAP also can identify the cholesterol markers for metabolic syndrome, a pre-cursor for diabetes.

To schedule a VAP Cholesterol Test or other heart and vascular screenings, call (219) 326-2626 or (800) 235-6204, ext. 2626.

VAP is one of many convenient screenings offered through the Heart and Vascular Institute at La Porte Regional Health System — a comprehensive umbrella of medical interventional and surgical services. For more information, visit www.my-heart.org.
