LRHS announces Director of Quality

La Porte Regional Health System (LRHS) announces Brenda Caum as the new Director of Quality.

Caum transferred to her new role in February. Her responsibilities include administering and managing the organization’s quality improvement program, as well as overseeing case management, utilization review, infection control and an inpatient wound care program.

Previously, she worked at La Porte Hospital as a staff nurse in various roles for the past 15 years, including medical/telemetry/oncology, Patient Care Nursing Supervisor and most recently Patient Care Auditor in Social Services and Case Management.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Dakota and is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing Leadership Program with Ball State University. Caum is the secretary of the Indiana Hospital Chart Auditor’s Association, member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and volunteer with the La Porte High School Music Club.

Caum lives in La Porte with her husband David and daughters Caitlin and Courtney.
