Behavioral Health Services of La Porte Regional Health System
Behavioral Health Services of La Porte Regional Health System is a resource for individuals having difficulty dealing with the problems of every day living. Behavioral Health Services provides quality counseling services for individuals and families, children as well as adults. A professional staff of therapists and nurses work with clinical social workers and psychiatrists to assist clients in identifying problem areas and help them develop a plan of action.
An individual’s plan of action is custom-tailored to address the client’s unique needs, taking work schedules and family commitments into account. It also encourages family involvement to promote healing within the family.
Behavioral Health Services offers both inpatient and outpatient services. Our 23-bed inpatient unit offers inpatient detoxification and short-term crisis stabilization for ages 12 and older. Our staff provides a daily structured program that includes:
- Individual counseling
- Group therapy
- Education
- Nutrition and medication management
- Family therapy
- Community resources
Our outpatient services include:
- 24-hour Access Center
- Referrals to Substance Abuse Program
- Redirecting Children’s Behavior Program
- Redirecting Adolescents and Families Together (RAFT)

24-hour Access Center
The 24-hour Access Center is a screening and referral service provided by a clinical staff member 24-hours a day. Individuals call 1-888-268-6268 to utilize the Access Line at any time; an appointment will be made for an initial free screening and recommendation.

Redirecting Children’s Behavior
This 4-week program is an interactive program that introduces parenting skills
that will improve problematic behavior, thus enhancing the parent/child relationship.
The next classes are scheduled for September 18 ��� October 16.

Redirecting Adolescents and Families Together
In collaboration with La Porte County Juvenile Court System, Behavioral Health Services of La Porte Regional Health System provides adolescents under 18, education on alcohol and drug use and its consequences. This program is offered on a court-referral basis only.
