The GE EXCITE 1.5 T HD MRI system provides physicians with high quality detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology to help them evaluate a wide range of conditions, including stroke, musculoskeletal, heart disease and breast cancer.

An MRI scans the body for molecular structures using magnetism and radio waves instead of x-rays. Because of the improved computer technology of the 1.5 T equipment, our patients will experience
better, faster exams. It even features an MRI-compatible sound system, allowing patients to bring in their own CDs or music which will help them relax and pass the time more quickly.

The 1.5 T MRI enhances all existing studies providing improved diagnostic advantages over traditional MRI. La Porte Regional Health System leads the way in providing the latest ‘space-age’ technology for the benefit of our patients.

The GE EXCITE 1.5 T HD MRI system provides physicians with unprecedented imaging speed and clarity in cases where patients are difficult to image due to movement, including Parkinson’s patients and children who do not respond to sedation. During a typical MRI scan, a patient can blur a scan with a slight movement, including a cough or sneeze. This movement can hide important details making it difficult to diagnose or require a re-scan.
